Head of Sales Planning & Development

Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Head of Sales Planning and Development's primary responsibility will be the development of brand-specific trade strategies as it relates to all aspects of a successful trade marketing program. Specific deliverables include design and execution of display programs, ROI evaluation for all national and custom programs, create new item and category management presentations, and improve internal systems and communication to insure rapid and timely response to all trade programs and to improve and expand all necessary sales support initiatives. The Sales Director of Planning and Development will also be responsible for supervising, managing and directing all sales support functions including Sales Development including Category Management, Trade Promotion including the custom display process and Sales Administration including communication.
Job Responsibilities
Develop overall trade and shopper marketing strategies considering the requirements of each brand including the customer specific programs and executions.
Support the development of go to market strategy for Sanofi CHC along with split of resources and sales by channel and key accounts
Establish guidelines for trade spending to include slotting, trade promotions and other non-volume building activities by working with Sales Management and track the implementation.
Evaluate potential ROI of all proposed displays/ activation and special packaging request proposals; approves or declines each proposal based upon the evaluation of same.
Coordinate activities between Marketing, Sales, Art and Operations to ensure that all trade materials are delivered on time to field sales, further ensure alignment between functions
Manage trade programs including resource allocation and project evaluation while identifying opportunities, risk and overall program return on investment.
Ensure all trade activation and initiatives are based on clear shopper and customer insights and provide ongoing input to the customer facing team to support them in customer relationship management.
Primary communication responsibilities include: sales strategy and implementation, trade marketing events, specific selling tools for key customers, streamline requests from Marketing to Field Sales and from Field Sales to Marketing, track competitive national trade/display activity and provide feedback to internal sources.
Drive strategic priorities around new item introductions by developing new item presentations and sell sheets, facilitate new item forecasts, establish strategies and tactics to help drive assortment decisions and provide input into the new product launch time table.
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Experience: 10 years in a related position; experience with IRI or Nielsen syndicated data. Proven experience working and communicating professionally with multiple layers of management, across departments, internal and external constituents.
Professional Skills: Ability to write and speak effectively; ability to analyze and evaluate several sources of data that is then developed into actionable insights. Ability to professionally deliver actionable insights in presentation form to field sales, marketing or other business related audiences is required.
Role Specific Competencies: Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with IRI's Xlerate and/or Nielsen's Nitro are preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to sign and execute a restricted covenant upon hire.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
