Automotive Technician Mechanic

The Maintenance Department is looking for three qualified mechanics. The Mechanic diagnoses and repairs various coach systems specifically concentrating on major complicated/complex problems. The Mechanic will be performing preventative maintenance including PMI's, defects, wheel bearing repacks, and brake jobs under supervision. In addition, the Mechanic performs upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems and equipment, performs electrical repairs as needed.
Minimum Qulaifications:
o High School Diploma or GED and valid state driver's license required
o Minimum two (2) years progressive maintenance diesel mechanic experience preferred
o Two ASE certifications
o Must have a sound understanding of the design, adjustment, overhaul operation and maintenance of transmissions, heavy-duty engines and other bus components
o Experience in diagnostic computer equipment required
o Basic 2-way radio skills required
o Must be physically agile and able to lift up to 75 lbs.
o Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions, and work around fumes/odors and chemicals
o Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination including a drug test
o Use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges and precision instruments, as well as, power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment and hoists.
o Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating conditions.
o Performs periodic maintenance of equipment and machinery such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery.
o Adjust and reline brakes.
o Raise equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
o Test drive equipment to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
o Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
o Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as hand held computers, chassis charts and pressure gauges.
o Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
o Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears and valves.
o Repair and adjust seats, doors and windows and install and repair accessories.
o Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
