How you make a difference:
As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for performing various purchasing and clerical duties, such as data entry, typing, and filing, while processing purchase and usage orders.
Additionally, you will be required to pick up materials from vendors and deliver office supplies as needed.
To be successful in this role, you should have a basic understanding of accounting and business procedures, as well as a working knowledge of the policies, practices, and procedures of the institution.
Key
Responsibilities:
Reviews and enforces compliance of corporate purchasing policies and procedures and negotiates prices with vendors to obtain the best pricing.
Establishes relationships with suppliers to address delivery and quality concerns and takes initiative and responsibility in generating purchasing solutions.
Maintains contracts with Corporate-approved buying groups and coordinates with Accounts Payable and Warehouse Supply Specialist to reconcile invoicing and maintain par levels of supplies.
Reviews and verifies past purchase order reports, contacts suppliers to address overdue purchase orders, and manages medical equipment rentals to minimize costs while providing for patients' needs.
Demonstrates understanding of Risk Management and ensures patient confidentiality and safety/security of data, supplies, and products in relation to purchasing and inventory.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Three (3) years of purchasing or materials management experience, preferably in a healthcare facility.
Licenses/Certifications None required.
